Beautiful memories John! Tears in my eyes and down my cheeks! Oh how connected and in love we are with those God places in our families, our paths. And especially our children, each child a gift we are amazed by! My heart breaks for you! If only the years, the joys, the laughter, and maybe even a little of the hard stuff (we learn from) could have lasted longer! If only...... I am so sorry that she is not here right now. I know this because I lost Dan far too early, and existence is so different when the ones we love so very deeply are gone. How do we go on? Can we go on? It's so hard, do we dare try? "There is so much more, no words now, only tears." Yes, the painful, yet cleansing tears of deep sorrow.... and tears of fear, stepping out, beginning to trust again.....to trust in a God that wipes away all our tears, that knows our pain, our disappointments, knows our appointed day of birth, and our day of death. He knows it all, has a plan.....we don't always understand, but we can trust and believe....and recieve. Receive his peace, his love, his forgiveness, his assurance that we will see our loved ones, in Him, again. We too can say, "I love you Papa God, more than the whole wide world and all the trees!" He is worthy!

This is the first time I have seen these 25 Random Facts about Jess. That point alone makes me laugh because I can still see Jess roll her eyes and suck her teeth every time I reminded her that Im still not on Facebook. :)
To be honest, it has taken me many days just to get through the list. I have re-lived so many special moments and memories. Though with Jess you always knew exactly where you stand in her heart because she told you every time she talked to you, I am grateful for #8. Thank you John for sharing.
All my Love.

Loved the list, priceless to have. I have enjoyed reading my daughters "journals" of which her best friend warned her, "someday somebody is going to read all our stuff we did". And yes I have enjoyed teasing her best friend who turns beet red when I tell all about the "stuff" they did-the boys, the parties they weren't suppose to go to, trying alcohol etc., etc., etc.....of course I tell her it doesn't matter now does it?--- and we'd both rather have her back!!!!

Having never met Jess but can identify with NO.#25 having spent 13 years of marriage without having kids to finally having my dear daughter to then losing her at age 20. That dear old verse in Jeremiah has always been a comfort and I send to you my friend Jeremiah 29:11-14 for this one year remembrance.

Wow! there's so much here. #10..my heart is still heavy from this. #12 Jess really knew all the best places no matter where she lived. While visiting her in hospital once, we went to lunch with John. When Jess heard where we'd gone, she said "I love my Dad but he's such a dork about restaurants". She and Matt took us to Macayo's. Oh my so good!! #21 movies - me too. #22 earplugs - me too. #25....I, too have lots of physical problems and wanted to have a baby from age 7. Docs said not possible. God blessed me with 2 beautiful inside and out daughters. Then I prayed He would let me live to see my first grandchild. I now have 5. I wanted this to happen for Jess in the worst way. I kept thinking that if God blessed one such as me?....surely - sweet, sweet Jess. (Sigh) I know she adored Sarah. I bet even as little as she is, Sarah will remember her fun, fun, fun Aunt Jess.

Guess I will add; I have never used a chapstick or even know what mountain dew code red is. I do not have a need for 138 pens, most of the time I have to borrow one from someone. Chicken enchilada's? oh yeah! Oh why did I mention them? Some of the best were prepared by Lisa, so no wonder Jess liked them.

But now the wanting others approval, yeah I know about that and her obviously superior taste for nice neat shiny bald pates speaks to her great discernment and good taste, but the sushi? nota so gooda!

One of a kind, she was! extraordinary love of life and everyone around her. Even her goofy bro at age (whatever circa 1985) sitting and doing the JOB act of throwing dirt up to have it coat his head. Jess corrected me for trying to persuade him that was not such a good idea.

You know it has to be #10 for us. With all else that brought pain, she did not need more. We cannot imagine the depth of her sadness about that. Bless you bro.

Hi Uncle John. Thank you so much for letting all of us read this. I remember when this "25 Random Facts About Me" surfaced on Facebook and I thought "what a waste of time!" But of course I ended up doing it anyway. Who would have known how important this really is.. By reading this, it's like she's almost frozen in time. Funny thing is, I wrote how much I'm obsessed with Chap Stick as well! I never leave home without it! Must run in the family. I love you so much Uncle John. I think about you and Aunt Lisa everyday. I'm sorry I haven't taken the time out of my busy schedule to pick up the phone to call you. Just know you're in my thoughts everyday and I love you so much...

I have never met Jessica, and yet from reading these 25 random facts once before and again now, and from what you, John, have told me, I know that I would have loved her. Her personality was both unique, as well as like all of us, in her desires, insecurities, dreams, yearnings, learnings, joys, sorrows, fears, cravings, and more. I have never met her and yet I can honestly say that I miss her. She was real, unique, honest, funny, and delightful to so many people, I'm sure, family and friends, and acquaintances, and all that knew her. I wish I could have met her here on Earth, however I look forward to meeting her in Heaven, where there is no more sorrow, death, pain, and heartache. Where we will be reunited with our Saviour, the Lord Jesus, who loves us with an everlasting, unconditional love! ~ Suzanne

Hi John -
I only met Jessica twice, but in reading these one line revelations, there were more than a few that made me feel connected...number 15? I have in my purse at this moment (I counted) 11 pens and 2 mechanical pencils, not counting the piece of mechanical pencil that no longer has a top or lead.....
Number 21....The obsession with movies-I can identify with that..the quoting of obscure lines from movies that no one else understands - and when someone finally gets it you feel like you've won the lottery!
and finally, number 24....office supplies - paper, post-its, pens, copier toner....it smells like promise and potential.....
Thank you, John, for sharing something so personal. I will treasure the memories I have - Jessica danced with abandon at Justin and Angelika's wedding, and knew every word to every song. She sparkled....
Much love to you and your family.
